Alliances are over; things back to normal. But is normal good? Do we like normal? The answer varies person to person. One side may benefit with strong ally in two sided city. Another side may benefit standing on their own in a divided city. Why is this the case? Perhaps data will help us.
Above is overall gang ratings before alliances reintroduced mid October. These ratings come from algorithm used internally in the underground known as; the ultimate algorithm. The ultimate algorithm; our bread and butter; consist of multiple factors; one factor you know well; growth; because we share it every month. The percent from ultimate algorithm tells how good gangs are doing overall.
By percents; Vipers & SCPD in class their own. Sinners & Omerta close enough and DA lagging behind. We have are 3 tiers. SCPD and Vipers should be fighting each other; Sinners and Omerta should be fighting each other; everyone minus Omerta should leave DA alone and let them grow. We didn’t see that. Instead we saw the gangs that should be fighting each other; avoid each other.
By those numbers; alliances were unnecessary. Does that mean Kali was wrong reintroducing alliances? No; the underground believes Kali wasn’t wrong because she didn’t have these numbers. Kali reasons were other; bad trends to break. Sinners were losing member every week; DA couldn’t grow because they continuously got pounded by other gangs; Omerta was doing hit and runs on lone Viper employees; Vipers were getting bored because internal problems kept Sinners inside every night.
The question remains; did alliances stop or pause these trends? With alliances over; we shall see what trends will develop. Perhaps other questions we have can be answered now; did the alliances help grow any gangs? did alliances save any gangs? Did the alliances hurt any gangs? What impact did alliances have on overall gang ratings?
The greatest beneficiary of alliances was DA; who overall rating boosted 6%. Alliance with Vipers protected DA to grow and gained invaluable combat experience. Next is Sinners and Omerta both overall rating boosted 5%. Omerta alliance help Sinners reverse low morale. Underground believe Omerta got lucky; at the rate Omerta growing they were overdue for setback; two month alliance helped Omerta avoid setback.
The one gang that wasn’t in alliance (we are not counting new gang after alliances; La Vendetta); the SCPD suffered biggest decline in overall rating; 20%. SCPD members were bored during alliances. Some high ranking members like Jon left SCPD and others like Fyng went inactive. Vipers overall rating took a minuscule 2% hit; they will likely regain lost in month. Alliances still benefitted Vipers because they are alone in their own tier; the other 4 gangs are lot tighter with only 8% overall rating separating 5th place DA from 2nd place Sinners; while 13% separate 1st place Vipers from next best gang; Sinners.
Based on overall rating alliances worked. The average gap between gang ratings before alliances was over 7%. After alliances the average gap between gangs dropped to 5%. If the overall gap can be reduced to 3 or 4 percent the underground believes fights will become more often and outcomes more closer. Sinners, Omertà, SCPD and DA must focus on recruiting and strengthening current rosters. Fights between these 4 gangs are fairer then ever; we believe they should be fighting each other and be cautious of the very strong Vipers.
